About Zalais Pipartomats
‘Zalais Pipartomats’ is a very rare, elongated, green when ripe tomato variety that originated in Latvia. The name means ‘Green Pepper Tomato’ in Latvian. Beautiful, light green-colored fruits get an amber blush on the skin when fully ripe. Elongated (15 cm long, 5-7oz./130-190g) fruits with pointy ends have a sweet and mild tomato taste. Meaty, somewhat dry flesh with very few seeds and good after shelf life. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with a heavy yield. Good for green tomato sauce and for drying. Late, about 95 days from transplant.
