About Yazon (Язон)
‘Yazon’ is a commercial variety from Russia. Named after Jason (a.k.a. Easun or Yazon), a late ancient Greek mythological figure, a leader of the Argonauts. It was included in Russian State Register in 2008. First introduced in Seed Savers 2008 Yearbook by Andrey Baranovski of Minsk, Belarus.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce a very high yield of beautiful, medium-sized (about 5oz./150g), white beefsteaks, slightly flattened and ribbed on the shoulders, with very mild, sweet taste and juicy flesh. Late, 90 days after transplant.
