About Wood’s Famous Brimmer

‘Wood’s Famous Brimmer’ is a very old heirloom tomato, introduced commercially by ‘TW Wood & Sons Seed Company’ of Richmond, Virginia, USA, before 1924. According to ‘Tatiana’s Tomatobase’, it is possible, that this variety was derived from the famous ‘Ponderosa’ tomato. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with large (9-18oz./250-500g), dark pink colored beefsteak type fruits, slightly flattened and ribbed on the shoulders. Meaty, dense flesh with very good, sweet, and somewhat spicy flavors. Midseason, 80 days after transplant.
