About Wedekind Heirloom Pink
An heirloom tomato from Wr. Wedekind who died in 1984 at age 85. Mr. Wedekind’s grandfather brought it from Germany, and it has been grown in Minnesota since the early 1900s. First offered in the Seed Savers 1985 Yearbook by John Pavola of Sauk Center, Minnesota, who got the seeds directly from Mr. Wedekind.
Introduced commercially by Tatiana’s TOMATObase Seeds in 2014. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce very good yields of 8-16 oz., pink, oblate, slightly ribbed, beefsteak tomatoes with very pronounced, well-balanced, old-fashioned flavors.
