About Waratah
‘Waratah’ was developed by the members of the ‘Dwarf Tomato Project’ from the ‘Plentiful’ family. Selected and named by Patrina Nuske Small. Stabilization was the collaborative work of Patrina Nuske Small, Craig LeHoullier, Paige Prince, Susan Dzejachok, Joyce Beggs, and Bill Minkey. First introduced commercially in 2016.
Vigorous, dwarf-type plants with regular and rugose leaf foliage produce red, smooth, oblate, medium to large (6-12oz./180-350g) fruits with firm, meaty and juicy flesh and very good, well-balanced, sweet tomato flavors with a fruity aftertaste. Midseason, about 70 days after transplant.
