About Val’s Black Striped

A brown/black mutation found in the batch of Sasha’s Altai saved by Val and Dan McMurray of Wyndell, BC, Canada in 2005. Discovered by Tatiana Kouchnareva in 2009. Subsequent growouts by Tatiana and other gardeners confirmed its stability. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce 2-3 oz., small, round, black tomatoes with dark green stripes that are meaty and full of slightly acidic flavors. A good choice for canning.
