About Turkish Striped Monastery
Said to be collected at a monastery garden outside of Istanbul, Turkey. First offered in the Seed Savers 2007 Yearbook by Bryan Connolly and Diane Dorfer of Mansfield Center, CT. Introduced commercially by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds in 2009. Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces prolific amounts of 1.5-2 oz., round, red fruits with golden stripes, (smaller than Tigerella) with very good zesty, robust flavor with a hint of sweetness.
