About Transparent
Seed of ‘Transparent’ tomato came originally from Charlotte Mullens, West Virginia via Hestel Haitez, Ohio, USA, who’s grown it “for as long as she can remember” (age 80 yrs.). ‘Transparent’ tomato seeds were first offered in the Seed Savers 1991 Yearbook by Craig LeHouillier.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce an outstanding yield of 1-3 oz., round or slightly oval, beautiful creamy yellow colored fruits with almost transparent skin. The flavor is very pleasant, mild, and fruity-sweet. A delicious little tomato with soft skin and smooth texture makes it a delight for fresh eating. Rare. Midseason, about 75 days to maturity.
