About Tiffen Mennonite
Heirloom variety from the Mennonites. Introduced to SSE by Thane H. Earle of Whitewater, Wisconsin in 1985. A winner of Territorial Seeds 2003 Great Northwest Tomato Taste-Off. The deliciously rich, sweet yet tangy flavors and large-sized, oblate fruit of this pink-skinned heirloom make it a great slicing candidate for your favorite sandwich. Though normally 12-16 oz., these whoppers can grow 5 1/2 inches across and are borne on potato leaved, indeterminate plants. Large vines need caging or staking.
