Old Russian variety, bred by Michurinsk State Agricultural University. From Gerhard Bohl’s collection, T 979.
First offered in the Seed Savers 1992 Yearbook by Åke Truedsson of Klagshamn, Sweden as Tambovskii.
Compact, determinate, regular leaf plants produce early and copious amounts of 3-5 oz., round, red, juicy fruits with well-balanced, invigorating flavors. A good choice for salads and farmers markets.
