A wonderful old Kentucky heirloom tomato preserved by Hobart Pearson of Berea, Kentucky, who was given the seed from an Amish family of Liberty, Kentucky, who had been growing it for over 100 years. Vigorous, indeterminate, regular-leaf plants yield heavy loads of 1-2 lb., red, beefsteak tomatoes loaded with rich, complex, old-time tomato flavors. This is a classic beefsteak tomato with a wonderful flavor and texture that make it perfect for slicing thick for tomato sandwiches and cut into tomato salads. A rare, historic, tomato variety that deserves a spot in your garden.
