About Strelka (Стрелка)

‘Strelka’ was developed by the Penza State Agricultural Academy and introduced in 1997. ‘Strelka’ means ‘Arrow’ in Russian. The name is probably connected to the shape of the fruits, which are medium-sized (4oz./120g), red, and strongly elongated (12-15 cm). Very meaty, red flesh with sweet flavors and very few seeds. Perfect for cooking and canning, sauce. Compact (about 70 cm tall), determinate plants with regular leaf foliage. Early to midseason, about 60-65 days from transplant.
