About Spike

‘Spike’ is a semi-determinate, bushy plant with very attractive, carrot-like leaf foliage. It was bred by Dr. Fred Hempel of ‘Artisan Seeds’, Green Bee Farm. Small (1-3 oz./40-80g), round, beautifully colored, rusty-orange fruits with stripes that vary from green to gold. Purple flesh and green gel. Sweet and rich tomato taste with pleasant, acidic notes. Crack-resistant fruits have a very good after-shelf life. Midseason, about 70 days to maturity. Perfect for small gardens.
