About Skariai

‘Skariai’ is a very delicious creation from Lithuanian breeder Genovaitė Teklė Visockienė. She created this variety at Kaunas Institute of Horticulture in 1987 from a cross made between ‘Everest’ tomato and a very old heirloom tomato. Medium to large (4-7oz./100-200g), red, elongated fruits, meaty and very tasty – sweet and aromatic. Very good, old-fashioned tomato taste. Indeterminate, vigorous, and tall plants grow up to about 2.3 – 2.5 meters tall, regular and very long, wispy leaves. Midseason, about 78 days to maturity.
