About Sheyenne
Heirloom tomato developed by the Agricultural Experimental Station of North Dakota in Fargo from a cross of (Stokesdale X Bounty) X Firesteel and some unknown variety. Released in 1959. Specially adapted to cooler climates. United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), PI 286597 collected in 1963. Determinate, regular leaf, vigorous plants produce good yields of 6-12 oz., red, round, juicy tomatoes with well pronounced, wonderful complex flavors.

The first tomato I planted, back in 1979. Wonderful grower, withstood a minor flood. More tomatoes than we could eat.
Planted in 1984 best I have ever raised !
