‘San Ceri’ is a very dark, eye-catching tomato selected by Bruno Fournier of France from the F2 line of the ‘Berkeley Tie Dye’ and ‘Indigo Apple’ cross made by breeder, Brad Gates. Named after the nickname of the town of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer in Southeastern France. It is a sister line to ‘Beaussetane’, ‘Ebro’, ‘San Nari’, ‘Clelia’, ‘Marie Antoinette’, ‘Bandol Blues’, ‘La Cadero’, and ‘Black Beauty’ tomatoes.
Semi-determinate, healthy and vigorous vines with regular leaves produce small tomatoes weighing 2-4oz./60-100g with very dark anthocyanin expression on the sun-exposed part of the fruits and dark raspberry pink bottoms. The fruits have juicy flesh with sweet and spicy flavors and a nice, lingering hint of citrus. Midseason, about 70-days to maturity.
