About Ruby Gold
Introduced by John Lewis Childs of Floral Park, NY, in his 1921 catalog. According to Seed Savers Exchange, this variety was renamed to Gold Medal by the late Ben Quisenberry in 1976. Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces 10-16 oz, large, yellow beefsteak tomatoes with pink streaks at the bottom half of the fruit. Juicy, not seedy, with very good, sweet flavors.
