About Rosa de Barbastro
‘Rosa de Barbastro’ is a very old Spanish variety considered to be one of the world’s best tomatoes. Originated in Barbastro, a Spanish village in the province of Huesca, hence the name of this variety. Beautiful, large (300 – 600g), pink fruits with very thin skin. Meaty yet juicy flesh with very few seeds. Exceptional, sweet, and a very rich, old-fashioned tomato flavor with a slight touch of acidity. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with outstanding yield. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.

Amazing tomato! I got seeds from a Spanish colleague (from his sister’s farm) and I grow them most years. Very large and very thin skinned, so prone to split. But the flavour is fabulous.
