About Rebel Yell
‘Rebel Yell’ is a variety developed in 2007 from a cross made by Rob Gee of Ohio, USA, in 2007 of ‘Stump of the World’ and ‘Bear Claw’.
It was then selected and stabilized by Blane Horton of Jackson, Mississippi, USA, and introduced commercially by ‘Marianna’s Heirloom Seeds’ and ‘Secret Seed Cartel’ in 2014.
On tall, vigorous, indeterminate vines with potato leaf foliage, medium-to-large pink beefsteaks with smooth shoulders weighing 6-13oz./180-360g are produced. The fruit is deliciously sweet and ideal for a variety of summer salads, chutneys, grilled dishes, and pizza toppings. Midseason, about 75 days after transplanting.
