About Purple Maritime Bells

‘Purple Maritime Bells’ is a compact, dwarf-type tomato plant with regular and rugose leaf foliage. Grows up to about 1.2 meters tall and produces a good yield of purple pear-shaped, zebra-type saladette (about 3oz./75g) with distinctive, dark green stripes. Firm and juicy purple flesh with very good, sweet tomato flavors. Perfect for fresh, as a snack, or in salads. Midseason, about 75 days to maturity.
‘Purple Maritime Bells’ was bred by Jason Haynes, from the USA from a cross made between ‘Michael Pollan’ and ‘Cherokee Tiger’. There is also another strain selected – ‘Green MaritimeBells’, which is a green when ripe fruit with dark green stripes.
