About Pumpkin (Potiron)
Pumpkin, AKA Potiron. Thought to be of French origin. ‘Potiron’ means ‘pumpkin’ in French. First offered in the Seed Savers 1999 Yearbook by Åke Truedsson of Klagshamn, Sweden. First introduced commercially by the ‘Delectation of Tomatoes’ in 2013. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce very large, up to 1.5 lbs., pink, tomatoes some with more ruffled shoulders than others. Very good, well-balanced, pronounced flavors, more acidic than sweet.
