About Plainsman
Developed in Texas by Dr. H. C. Mohr at Texas A&M College in the 1960s as a processing variety, home garden, and early market type. “Performs particularly well on the High Plains of Texas and should be adapted to other dry climates.” A true Texas heirloom tomato. Determinate, regular leaf plants yield plentiful crops of 6 oz., red, early, round tomatoes with excellent, well-balanced flavors. The plant is small and compact so requires a minimum of space. Foliage protects against sunburn better than most early types.

This was tomato was bred by my father. He was a perfectionist and took great pride in horticultural achievements. Later in life, he pioneered bush melons and squashes in addition to other achievements. Enjoy!
Thank you, David! Have a beautiful tomato season!
