About Perth Pride
‘Perth Pride’ was developed by the members of the ‘Dwarf Tomato Project’ from the cross made by Patrina Nuske Small between ‘New Big Dwarf’ and ‘Paul Robeson’ in 2006 and named ‘Happy’ family. Selected and named by Tessa Millesse who lives in Perth, Western Australia. Additional breeding work was provided by Tessa Millesse, Patrina Nuske Small, Dustin Stober, Craig LeHoullier, Jeanne Krenning, Justin Morse, Nuria Sanchez, Jerry Dickerson, and Dana Ivey, Ted Maiden. Introduced commercially in 2011.
Regular and rugose leaf, dwarf-type plants are loaded with medium (3-5oz./90-150g), deep purple-colored, round, and oblate fruits with bold, well-balanced tomato flavors and some tart and tangy notes. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
