About Peppermint
‘Peppermint’ is a bicolored American heirloom tomato, that dates back to 1980. Originating from the mountains around Pikeville-Crab Orchard, Tennessee, it was first offered in Seed Savers 1992 Yearbook by James T. Bridges of King George, Virginia, who now lives in Hixson, Tennessee.
Very attractive, medium to large beefsteaks, beautifully colored from yellow to orange outside with red marbling inside. Delicious, meaty yet juicy flesh, sweet with fruity notes. Indeterminate, regular leaf foliage and very prolific plants. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
