Developed by William S. Porte at the USDA’s Plant Industry Station, Beltsville, Maryland from a stabilized cross between ‘Marglobe’ tomato and a wild red currant tomato that was found on the Pacific coast of Peru.
Released by William Henry Maule Seed Company prior to 1907. Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces 3-10 oz., red, slightly flattened, round, oblate fruit with a very pleasing texture and abundant rich flavors. Good market tomato. Perfect choice for a canning tomato.
