About Otradnyj (Отрадный)
‘Otradnyj’ is a Russian commercial variety created in 1979 by the Federal Scientific Center of Vegetable Growing in Moscow and included in the Russian State Register in 1984.
A compact, determinate, tomato plant with regular leaf foliage bearing small (1.8-2.4oz./50-68g), round, slightly ribbed on the shoulders fruits with a savory, slightly acidic, tomato taste. A variety that is well suited for growing in two to five-gallon containers, during colder seasons and short summers. The fruit begins to ripen during the early part of the growing season, about 55-69 days after transplant.
