About New King

‘New King’ is a very rare heirloom tomato from the United States. In 1928, Vaughan’s Seed Store in Chicago, IL, USA, introduced this tomato as the largest fruit they knew of, also stating that it is from the Chicago district. The GRIN Accession number for this tomato is PI 636248.
This vigorous, indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces large (9-16oz./250-450g), pink beefsteaks that are meaty and juicy with excellent, old-fashioned tomato flavor. Well suited for slicing, platters, and salads. Mid-season maturity ranges between 75 and 85 days.
