About Muddy Waters

‘Muddy Waters’ was created by Tom Wagner of Everett, Washington USA. It is one of the best-segregated lines borne from Tom’s ‘Searching for the Blue Zebra’ project and named after McKinley Morganfield, known professionally as ‘Muddy Waters’, an American blues singer-songwriter. The original crosses for this project were made by Tom with the ‘P20 Blue’ tomato during the development of the ‘Blue Zebra’ tomato.
This indeterminate, regular leaf tomato plant produces small (3-5oz./80-150g) fruit with indigo shading that develop mid to late season. The green interior against an antho skin makes for a stunning contrast. The taste is deliciously rich, complex, and intense and is thought by some to have the finest flavor of any anthocyanin tomato. All of these traits make it an excellent candidate for market growers. Strong disease resistance and extended shelf life.
