About Mozkorra Aretxabaleta (Morado de Aretxabaleta)
‘Mozkorra Aretxabaleta’ is a local heirloom tomato, seeds of which were saved by a Spanish farmer, who received them from a nun. It was grown for more than 50 years in the vicinity of the town Aretxabaleta, in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Autonomous Community of Basque Country, northern Spain.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with prolific yields of large (9oz./250g), pink beefsteaks. Round and slightly flattened fruits with smooth shoulders and outstanding, old-fashioned, sweet tomato taste. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
