About Mongolskiy Karlik (Монгольский Карлик, Mongolian Dwarf)
‘Mongolskiy Karlik’ is a Russian variety. The specific origin is not known. Some claim that this is a Siberian variety created in Novosibirsk, while others that it is from Urals – Chelyabinsk.
A very unique, regular leaf plant that grows up to about 5.9-8in./15-20cm tall. Large, oblate fruit weighing 7-9oz./200-250g large fruits cause the vines to hang down under their weight. Old-fashioned, well-balanced tomato flavors and juicy flesh makes this variety perfect for salads or sandwiches. Plants require little attention, have good disease resistance, and grow well in containers, even in colder weather conditions. Fruits ripen early in the season, about 55 days after transplant.
