About Milka‘s Red Bulgarian
‘Milka’s Red Bulgarian’ is a Bulgarian origin, that was introduced and named by Dr. David Kroska after the person from whom he received the seeds. David sent seeds of this variety to Dr. Carolyn Male of Salem, New York. She grew it in 2004 and it becomes one of her favorite red tomatoes. She shared seeds with Garden Web members in the fall of 2004.
‘Milka’s Red Bulgarian’ is a beautiful, red beefsteak tomato. Large (14-28oz./400-800g), meaty fruits have outstanding, old-fashioned, perfectly balanced tomato taste and creamy, ‘buttery’ texture of the flesh. Small seed cavities and very few seeds. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with abundant yield. Mid- to late season, 80-85 days after transplant.
