About Micro-Tina
‘Micro-Tina’ was developed by the University of Florida, Bradenton, USA, from a cross made between ‘Micro-Tom’ and ‘Sugar. This variety was developed as a part of a special International Space Station project named ‘Dwarf Space Tomato’*. Short, only 17-25cm tall, compact micro dwarf plants with regular and rugose leaf foliage are perfect for growing in small containers or on windowsills. Plants grow quickly but stay small and fruits mature early in the season what makes this variety great for growing in the confined habitats of space. Small (0.3oz./9g), red, round cherry tomatoes with sweet and mild tomato taste and thick skin. Good resistance to fusarium wilt and gray leaf spot. Highly tolerant to major fruit disorders as blossom end rot and cracking.
* Varieties that are also a part of this project are ‘Micro-Tom’ and ‘Micro Gemma’ tomatoes.
