About Maerchenglanz (Märchenglanz)
‘Märchenglanz’ is a beautifully colored, striped tomato from the ‘Kleverhof’* seed company in Elmenhorst, Germany.
A robust indeterminate regular leaf plant that yields large cherry to saladette (0.9-1.4oz./25-40g), round, antho over dark pink fruits with orange striping. The exterior is exceptionally glossy, with a juicy, smooth textured, sweet and tangy inside that is ideal for salads, fresh snacking, or incorporating into culinary creations. Continuous and consistent fruit yields, even in extreme heat, and is ideal for farmer’s markets. The first fruits will mature for harvest in the middle of the season, about 72-75 days after transplant.
*’Kleverhof’ seed company released the extensive collection named the Märchen Series (Märchen is a fairy tale in Germany) which included the following: Märchenfee, Märchenelf, Märchenmonster, Märchengold, Märchenglanz, Märchenfrucht, Märchenengel, Märchenzauber.
