‘Lotos’ is a Russian commercial variety, created by Federal Nauchny Tsentr Ovoshchevodstva*. It was included in the Russian State Register in 2003. The name means ‘Lotus’ in Russian. First offered in the Seed Savers 2008 Yearbook by Andrey Baranovski of Minsk, Belarus, and Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois, who received the seed from Andrey.
Indeterminate, potato leaf plant produces 4-6 oz., smooth, perfectly round and oblate, creamy-colored fruits. juicy, with mild sweet flavors.
*There is another Russian commercial variety vended by CV Fitos-Agro with the same name but pink-fruited, 3-4 oz, and very early.
