Russian commercial variety. The name means ‘Lotus’ in Russian. First offered in the Seed Savers 2008 Yearbook by Andrey Baranovski of Minsk, Belarus and Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois, who received the seed from Andrey. There is another Russian commercial variety vended by CV Fitos-Agro with the same name but pink-fruited, 3-4 oz, and very early.
