About Lagidnyi
Ukrainian commercial variety, bred and released by Kiev’s Vegetable Experimental Station in 1993. First offered in the Seed Savers 2007 Yearbook by Michael Gunn of Pasadena, Texas. Compact determinate plants up to 2′ tall with regular foliage and heavy fruit set early in the season. Fruits are bright red perfectly shaped ovals, 2-4 oz, with two seed chambers. Wonderful balanced taste, good meat/juice ratio makes it very good for salads, as well as for canning whole. Early maturity.
