About King Pineapple
‘King Pineapple’ is a beautiful, bi-colored heirloom tomato whose seeds were saved by Nelson R. Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. He bought the plant from the 93-year-old gardener on the market in 1990. According to the old gardener, this variety was grown in his family since his great grandfather.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce heavy crops of large and extra-large (average 18-28oz./500-800g), but some fruits can reach even 53oz.-1500g, orange and pink, bi-colored beefsteaks with orange interior marbled with pinkish swirls. Juicy flesh with sweet tomato flavors, fruity aroma, and creamy texture. Late, about 90 days to maturity.
