About Kenigsberg Serdtsevidnyy (Кенигсберг Cердцевидный)
‘Kenigsberg Serdtsevidnyy’ is a very rare variety selected by Russian amateur gardeners from the red-fruited* ‘Kenigsberg’ tomato, created by Vladimir Nikolajevich Dederko, who worked in the research center in Kaliningrad, Russia. Named after the city Königsberg, which was the name for the historic Prussian city that is now Kaliningrad.
Fruits are large (18-35oz./500-1000g), elongated, pink hearts with sweet, firm, and juicy flesh. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce a good yield in the mid to late season. About 78-85 days from transplant.
The ‘Kenigsberg’ varieties are especially valuable in areas with a short summer period and cooler climate.
* There are also few other siblings of red-fruited ‘Kenigsberg’ tomato – pink, yellow, and ‘zolotoy’.
