About Kangaroo Paw Yellow
‘Kangaroo Paw Yellow’ was developed by the members of the Dwarf Tomato Project from a cross made between ‘Budai Torpe’ and ‘Cherokee Green’ by Patrina Nuske Small of Australia in 2005 and named ‘Witty Family’. ‘Kangaroo Paw Yellow’ was selected and named by Patrina, Tim Warren, and Craig LeHoullier (Patrina named it ‘Kangaroo Paw’, and when different colors appeared, Tim and Craig named the segregants by colors). Stabilization was the collaborative work of Patrina Nuske Small, Craig LeHoullier, Doug Frank, Dee Sackett, Carol Knapp, A. Carmichael, Nancy Ruhl, and Bill Minkey.
Introduced commercially by Victory Heirloom Seeds in 2016.
Vigorous, regular, and rugose leaf, determinate dwarf-type plants grow up to about 1.3 meters tall and produce a good yield of medium (4 oz./120g), round, bright yellow fruits. Well-balanced, sweet, and fruity flavors. Late, 90 days after transplant.
* This variety is now associated with the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI), which means that: ‘You have the freedom to use these OSSI seeds in any way you choose. In return, you pledge not to restrict others’ use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents, or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.’
