About Justyna

‘Justyna’ tomato was selected and stabilized by Tatiana Kouchnareva of Tatiana’s TOMATObase between 2008-2013, from a cross made by Tom Wagner between ‘Mountain Roma’ and an F2 of ‘Sun Sugar’ tomato. Selected for earliness, fruit color, and flavor and named after Justyna Kowalczyk, a well-known Polish cross-country skier who has competed and won numerous prestigious ski competitions, including the Olympic Games, since 2000. It was first introduced commercially by Tatiana’s TOMATObase Seeds in 2014.
Indeterminate, regular, wispy leaf plant with a distinguishing foliage smell, similar to the ‘SunGold’ tomato. It produces small (0.5-1oz./14-28g), elongated, orange, plum-shaped fruits with a charming, pointed tip at the blossom end. Deliciously sweet taste with some acidic undertones. Excellent in salads, salsas, and sauces. Midseason, about 72-75 days to maturity.
