About Joe’s Portuguese
Portuguese variety, named by Val and Dan McMurray. Dan picked the seeds out of a salad in Portugal in the late 1990s or early 2000s, and they have been growing this variety in their garden since then. Introduced to SSE by Carolyn Male, NY in 2007. Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces large, 14-16 oz., round, ribbed, beefsteak, pink fruits with very good, complex flavors. Meaty with few seeds.
