About Jackass Yellow
‘Jackass Yellow’ is a beautiful yellow beefsteak tomato born on a regular and rugose leaf, dwarf-type plant. Stabilized by Blane Horton of Jackson, Mississippi, USA from an original cross made between ‘Red House Free Standing’ and ‘Cherokee Green’ by John Beidler of Connecticut, USA.*
‘Jackass Yellow’ is a big (7-14oz/200 – 400 g), sweet and juicy, slightly flattened tomato with wavy shoulders. Excellent, perfectly balanced sweet and intense tomato taste, with a rich, complex aftertaste. Indeterminate, dwarf-type plants grow up to about 1.2 meters tall and produce good yields. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
* There are also green and red-fruited siblings from this line.
