About Jackass Green
‘Jackass Green’ is a dwarf type tomato, stabilized by Blane Horton of Jackson, Mississippi, USA from an original cross made by John Beidler of Connecticut, the USA between ‘Red House Free Standing’ and ‘Cherokee Green’. Big (7-14oz./200-400g), green when ripe fruits with creamy green, sweet and juicy flesh, green gel, and yellow epidermis. Slightly flattened beefsteaks with wavy shoulders and amber-colored blush on the bottom when fully ripe. Excellent, perfectly balanced sweet and tart tomato taste, with a full rich aftertaste. Indeterminate, about 1.2-meter tall plant with potato and rugose leaf foliage and excellent yield. Midseason, 80 days to maturity.
‘Jackass Green’ is a sister line to the ‘Shamrock’ tomato, which is also green when ripe – the difference is the regular and rugose leaf foliage.
