About Istra
Istra is an old Slovenian heirloom variety from the Istria Penisula (Slovak: Istra, hence the name of this variety), the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea, located at the head of the Adriatic Sea, between the Gulf of Trieste and the Kvarner Gulf. Istra produces beautiful, large, ribbed, oblate, red fruit. Very meaty, with small (sometimes empty) seed cavities. Indeterminate, tall, and strong plants with regular leaf foliage. The fruits are mild and sweet. Late, about 85 days from transplant.
