About Ingegnoli Gigante Liscio
An historic Italian heirloom developed around 1920 from a cross of Ponderosa and St.Louis. Donated to USDA in April 1992 from Italy by Fratelli Ingegnoli.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces large, 6-16 oz., red, irregularly shaped beefsteak tomatoes with meaty, juicy flesh. Excellent, strong, well-balanced flavors.

First planted a couple of years ago. Volunteers keep sprouting each year since. Prolific producer, seems to be disease resistant. Last years volunteer produced tomatoes until mid December. There were blossoms on the plant when frost finally killed the plant.Good old-fashioned tomato taste.
