About Indigo Pear Drops

‘Indigo Pear Drops’ is a vibrant variety that was bred by Jim Myers, a vegetable breeder and professor at the Oregon State University College of Agricultural Sciences in the USA. Myers’ goal is to develop a breed of tomatoes with exceptionally high levels of antioxidants. ‘Indigo Pear Drops’ is a member of the Indigo tomato family.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plant yields pear-shaped cherry tomatoes weighing 0.9-2oz./25-50g and measuring 0.8-0.9in./2-2.5cm. Fruits have sunny orange skin that develops contrasting indigo-colored shoulders as it ripens. The flavor is divine, and delicately sweet, with a wonderful tomato taste that complements that sweetness perfectly. Incredible when combined with crisp summer salads to offer a splash of color. This variety has a high concentration of anthocyanin, a naturally occurring antioxidant found in blueberries. About 75 days to maturity.
