About Indiana Red
‘Indiana Red’ tomato variety was first introduced in the Seed Savers Yearbook in 2008. In the spring of 2007 Horace ‘Big Red’ Boynton Jr. of Bethelridge, Kentucky, USA, bought at a local nursery 4 tomato plants, that were labeled ‘Indiana Red’. He could not find any information about the origin of this variety or anything about its history. Indeterminate, regular, and droopy leaf foliage plants, with a moderate yield of big (12-18 oz.) red heart-shaped fruit. Excellent, rich tomato taste. Midseason, about 75 days to maturity.
