About Thompson Seedless Green Grape (Thompson Seedless Grape, Green Grape)
‘Thompson Seedless Green Grape’ was bred by Tom Wagner of Everett, Washington, USA. The Original name was changed (shortened) by Tom’s customers to ‘Green Grape’. This beautiful green when ripe grape-shaped cherry tomato contains very few seeds, hence the name. It was developed from a cross made by Tom between ‘Yellow Pear’ and ‘Evergreen’.
A semi-determinate, regular leaf and bushy tomato plants are wide and branchy. Fruits are borne in irregular clusters of 6-12 fruits each and resemble large muscat grapes. The succulent interior flesh is amber green. The flavors are sweet, spicy, and tomatoey. This variety has become popular in restaurants and markets because of its unique attractiveness and its tantalizing, rich, tangy flavor. Mid-season, about 75-78 days after transplant. Very good disease and heat resistance.
