About Golden Cherokee

‘Golden Cherokee’ is a very beautiful yellow and red bi-color sport from ‘Cherokee Green’ found by Reinhard Kraft of Neukirchen, Germany. First offered in the Seed Savers 2006 Yearbook by Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois. Outstanding, large (5-14oz./150-400 g) beefsteak-type fruits, yellow and red marbled outside and inside with slightly ribbed shoulders. Extremely hot and dry weather conditions can make the fruit more red than yellow. Excellent, rich tomato taste, juicy, sweet, and fruity flesh with a nice, citrus aftertaste. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with very good yield. Midseason, 80 days from transplant.
