About Gill’s All-Purpose
‘Gill’s All-Purpose’ was bred in 1947 by the ‘Gill Brothers Seed Company’, in Portland, Oregon. Donated to the USDA in 1965 by Gill Seed Company, accession number PI 303735. Originally a cross between ‘Wasatch Beauty’ and ‘Pepper’ tomato. Semi-Determinate, regular-leaf plants yield very large crops of 2 1/2″ – 3″, deep-red tomatoes with rich tomato flavor. A perfect ’round variety for a canning tomato, juicing, slicing, and eating fresh off the vine. Disease resistant. Mid-to-late season, 80-90 days to maturity.
