About Georgia Streak
‘Georgia Streak’ is an outstanding heirloom variety that comes from Georgia, USA. Donated to Seed Savers Exchange by Archie Hook, Alexandria, IN, USA, in 1985. Archie’s sister obtained the seeds from a man who came to Indiana from one of the southern states. The variety was mentioned in the catalog ‘Southern Exposure Seeds Exchange’ from Mineral Virginia, USA, in 2016.
Indeterminate vines with regular leaf foliage are loaded with an abundant yield of yellow and red bi-colored beefsteaks weighing 10-16oz./284-454g or more. Inside and out, the beefsteaks are streaked with brilliant red, and their flavors are robust, fruit forward, and intensely sweet. When sliced or quartered, they are an eye-catching and tasty addition to any summer dish. Mid-to-late season, about 80-85 days to maturity.
